blue-head-lizard
Spectacular blue-headed Agama lizard, photographed yesterday in a local temple in Chiang Rai.

If you know me, you know I love lizards. It’s a childhood passion that carried over into adulthood. A blessing of where I live, in Thailand, is there’s an abundance of lizards. The small geckos are everywhere, including indoors. The giant Tokay geckos can be heard calling, and make regular appearances on windows, and have also come indoors to visit. There are metallic skinks scampering about, and then my favorite lizard is this blue headed special, the Calotes mystaceus (a.k.a. Indo-Chinese Forest Lizard, Indo-Chinese Bloodsucker or Blue-crested Lizard).

The blue is a special attire for the mating season!
