I managed to collage in people in tubes for the background from “This Island Earth”, which is where the original mutant comes from. I’ve got the impasto “thought bubble” in there, with drips, but I’m not 100% on the composition yet. I keep tinkering, and after a while it’s like getting an eye exam and switching between lenses when you get fed up and don’t really know whether A or B is better anymore.
I’m getting a general, overall color scheme, but that can completely change. I haven’t really colored the creature yet. For example, its claws should be a different color from the body, and the eyes are more black…
Later still it will go into the painting stage.
