This has gone further than my expectations. It started off as another of my experiments (I almost never do two images in a row with the same approach). It’s similar to some ink drawings I did a while back. But I’ve surprised myself in the range of textures and forms that suggest themselves to me, and which I’m then able to articulate. I think I’d like to do one of these in color, but that adds infinitely more complications. May attempt that later, and perhaps by working directly in color rather than doing it in B&W first, but if I have the time I’d like to try both.
It also reminds me of Giger, Bosch, Matta, Tanguy, Kandinsky, and, er, Pollock.
