Brown-Versus-Plagiarism

Recently I’ve been debating the Stuckists about this on their Facebook group page (and losing, which goes without saying on any forum when ones position is outnumbered), so I made another graphic to illustrate my stance.

To find out more about this read my longer article In Defense of Artist, Glenn Brown. In short, though, what you see here isn’t simple plagiarism. Brown reinterprets an image in a way that still looks like the image, though the application of paint and scale are completely different. But then he does it again, and again. In the end you can’t say the painting plagiarizes the original at all!
